Most of the time, a busy schedule can keep you away from a well-balanced diet that includes a wide variety of foods. Fortunately, consuming fresh, natural juices can be a great way to enjoy essential nutrients, especially when you are hungry or on a run. Here’s what an anti-aging smoothie should contain.
What should an anti-aging juice contain
With age, the daily vitamins and nutrients become more important as the body undergoes many changes. So, fortunately, there are juices that help us slow down the aging process. In general, herbal smoothies, as sweet as apple or pear, come packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, all in one glass.
Always use spinach or kale in these green smoothies, as well as cucumbers. These ingredients provide hydration, antioxidants, and small aids to collagen production such as vitamins A and C that also keep hair, skin, and nails healthy.
In a study published in Biomedical and Environmental Sciences, a group of men with high cholesterol drank kale juice daily for 12 weeks, and eventually researchers found that LDL (bad) cholesterol decreased and HDL (good) cholesterol grew.
Similar to kale salad, spinach comes with great heart-healthy benefits. A study conducted by Clinical Nutrition Research showed that participants who ate spinach daily were able to lower blood pressure.
So when drinking green juice, make sure it contains kale, spinach or cucumber salad and a fruit like apple or pear.
