Who doesn’t remember the taste of these Viva pillows? It might not have been a breakfast our parents let us eat too often, but it was definitely one of our favorites. With crème de cacao, hazelnuts, strawberries, bananas…it didn’t even matter. A bowl of pillows with milk and we were happy.

Boiled eggs, served with toast, are another popular breakfast not only in our childhood, but also today. The combination of soft egg yolk and crusty bread…delicious. Sometimes the egg was mixed with some bread in a bowl and eaten with a small spoon.

We can’t talk about childhood breakfasts without mentioning skewers. Thick slices of bread, made from a mixture of egg, milk and sugar or salt, depending on preference, and fried in a pan… We would have eaten a whole loaf of bread if our parents had left us .

A quick breakfast often served consists of slices of bread spread with butter or margarine. Sometimes they were served simply, with salt, other times they were greased with jam or honey, and other times the telemeau accompanied the slice of bread greased with butter.
