Lenten tart with blueberry jam it’s so tasty and fragrant that it’s hard to believe it doesn’t contain eggs, butter or milk.

Fasting tart with blueberry jam – Ingredients (pie shape 20 cm Ø)

300g flour

100g cornstarch

100g almond flour

15g cocoa

6g baking powder

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

180 ml sunflower/peanut oil

200g sugar

1 pinch of salt

Lenten tart with blueberry jam – Preparation

We put in the robot flour, almond flour, starch, sugar, baking powder, salt, cocoa and cinnamon.

We run the robot, at medium speed, then we start to gradually add the sunflower/peanut oil.

When the dough becomes homogeneous, turn off the robot. We lay the dough on the work table lightly sprinkled with flour and give it a round shape. We wrap it in cling film and put it in the fridge for 1 hour.

After resting, remove the plastic film and place the dough between two sheets of baking paper. It is spread with a blowtorch in a round sheet about 1 cm thick.

Remove the parchment paper from the top and carefully turn the sheet of dough into a tart shape lined with oil and flour. Carefully peel off the parchment paper and trim the excess edges of the pastry.

We fill the pie with blueberry jam.

Roll out the rest of the dough between two sheets of baking paper, about 1 cm thick, then cut it into the shape of a star biscuit.

Gently position the cut stars above the jam, and place small balls of dough around the fasting pie.

Bake the pie in the oven preheated to 180°C, for about 30 minutes, and after baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool completely in the mould.

After cooling (I let it cool for 3-4 hours at room temperature), carefully extract it from the mold and, if desired, dust the edges with cocoa or vanilla powdered sugar.

Cocoa fasting check

Cocoa fasting cake – Ingredients (round shape with hole 24 cm Ø)

320g flour

350 ml of soy/cow’s milk

50g cocoa

130ml coconut/sunflower/peanut oil

220 g of sugar

1 packet of baking powder

1 pinch of salt

1 teaspoon grated orange zest (optional)

Cocoa fasting check – Preparation

Heat the milk over low heat.

In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa, salt and baking powder.

Melt the coconut oil in a bain-marie and pour it over the mixture of solid ingredients. Add the hot milk and mix until smooth, no more.

If desired, we can also add grated orange zest.

We put the composition of the fasting cake in the form lined with coconut oil and flour and carefully level it.

Bake the cake on an empty stomach in the oven preheated to 180 ° C for about 25-30 minutes.

Before removing the cake from the oven, we do the test with the toothpick. If it comes out clean, the cake is done.

Let the cake cool in the mold, pour it on a wire rack and sprinkle it with vanilla sugar.

It is served with relish for breakfast, tea or coffee.

Fasting waffles with strawberries, bananas and maple syrup, fasting dessert for breakfast

Post Waffe – Ingredient (8 waffles)

300g flour

6g baking powder

40g brown sugar

300ml soy milk

120ml mineral water

2 tablespoons peanut oil / sunflower oil

1 vanilla pod

1 pinch of salt

In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking powder and sugar.

In another bowl, combine the milk, oil and vanilla bean seeds.

Add the liquid mixture to the solid and mix until smooth, no more. The less you mix, the softer the waffles will be.

Just before baking the waffles, add mineral water and stir.

Heat the waffle maker and grease the two plates with a little peanut or sunflower oil.

Add a small piece of batter to the center of the machine, close it, and bake the waffles according to the machine’s instructions.

They can be eaten hot or cold, with maple syrup and fruit or simply sprinkled with vanilla icing sugar. They are delicious!
