Santal juice producer Parmalat Romania, part of the French group Lactalis, generated sales of 59.1 million lei (12.5 million euros) last year, up 4.5% over the previous year, according to ZF calculations based on data. from the Ministry of Finance. 2019 is the sixth year in which Parmalat Romania recorded an increase in sales. The company’s net profit amounted to more than 3.5 million lei (757,000 euros) in 2019, up 10% from the previous year, according to public data.
Last year, Parmalat in Romania averaged 90 employees. Santal’s portfolio includes nectarine (fruit content of 25-99%), natural juices obtained from concentrates and/or fruit purees, organic juices and iced tea. Parmalat is part of the international Lactalis group, with the French taking the largest share in the product in 2011. The group has sales of more than 19 billion euros annually and also owns the local dairy producers LaDorna, Albalact and Covalact.
Giampaolo Manzonito leads all companies in the Lactalis Romania group. This year, the French Lactalis group decided to close the factories in Dealu Floreni and Vatra Dornei (Suceava), located in the Dorna Lactate portfolio, noting that the LaDorna brand would continue production in the group’s other units, namely: the plaque plant in Uigdia, the province of Alba and the Covalact plant in Svanto Giorgi, Covasna Province.
