Beet salad

You need the following ingredients: two red beets of appropriate size, grated horseradish, to taste, two teaspoons of oil, one teaspoon of sugar, salt, lemon juice or apple cider vinegar.

Method of preparation :

Wash the beets well and bring to a boil with salt. After boiling, peel and place on a large grater. Add lemon juice or apple cider vinegar, sugar, horseradish, salt and oil and mix. It is important to know that beets have many health benefits. It keeps hypertension under control, cleans the blood, helps prevent cancer.

The nuns say that during the fast, eating beets, in combination with other fruits and vegetables, helps maintain health.

Borscht with nettles

Borscht with nettles is another popular dish among the nuns of Pasărea Monastery. For the preparation you need the following ingredients: fresh nettles, a liter of borsch, an onion, a parsnip, a parsley root, two carrots, chopped larch leaves, half a cup of rice, 4 tbsp of oil, salt and pepper after taste.

Method of preparation :

Clean and wash the nettles thoroughly. Be careful, they are washed in several waters, scalded and left to cool, then finely chopped. Carrot, onion, parsley and parsley roots are cleaned and boiled. When they are ready, drain them. Separately, in a saucepan, heat the oil, add the finely chopped onion and the nettles to taste.

The strained juice from the vegetables is boiled again. When it has boiled, add the hardened onions, nettles and rice. When the rice has softened, add the borscht, cooked separately, to match the taste with salt, pepper and larch leaves. Boiled vegetables can also be added, diced or served separately with a sauce.

Nettle is appreciated for its beneficial properties on the kidneys, circulation, stomach, liver and obesity; purifies the blood and regenerates the cells.

Of course, bean soup is a must at the monastery. You need the following ingredients: Beans, 1-2 garlic cloves, onion, carrots, celery, parsnips to taste, tarragon or thyme, salt.

Preparation method

The day before, the beans are washed and soaked overnight. The next day it boils. After boiling and foaming, remove from heat, wash and boil in another water. Add the onions, carrots, celery, parsnips and garlic. At the end, preferably add tomato juice and spices: tarragon or thyme.

Beans are recommended in diets and balanced diets.

You need the following ingredients: three potatoes of the right size, 2 carrots, 2 bell peppers, 1 zucchini, half a cauliflower, half a cabbage, a handful of green beans, a celery, 2 onions, 4 tomatoes, a teaspoon of tomato paste or 2 tablespoons of broth, 2 tablespoons of chopped green parsley, 2 tablespoons of butter, salt to taste.

Preparation method

We wash the vegetables and peel the potatoes, celery, carrots and zucchini, then cut them into cubes. Cabbage is cut into small pieces, cauliflower is broken into bunches, and green beans are cut into 2-3 cm pieces.

Peel an onion and fry it in a pan with hot oil, add the rest of the vegetables, sprinkle with a pinch of salt and dip with water and broth. Diced tomatoes are placed on top, along with half of the chopped greens. Then put the dish in the oven, on the right heat and leave to rest for an hour. Beans with bacon

Ingredients: 1 cup white beans, 5 large onions, 150ml oil, 2 carrots, 1 tsp paprika, 6 cloves garlic, salt to taste, tarragon or thyme, 1 tsp chopped green parsley , 1 teaspoon of tomato paste.

Method of preparation.

As with the bean soup, wash the beans in more water the night before, then let them soak. The next day, the water is changed and boiled. When it boils, change the water and add a cleaned onion, cut into quarters, 2 cleaned carrots, cut in half, tarragon or thyme and let everything boil until the beans become tender. Then pass through a sieve. In a saucepan, heat the oil and brown the remaining 4 onions. When you see that the onion is golden, add the tomato paste, the paprika, the drained beans with the vegetables, salt to taste. Boil until well reduced and finally sprinkle with chopped green parsley.

mushroom food

Ingredients: 250-300g farm mushrooms, 2 tbsp oil, 1 tbsp chopped green dill, 3 tbsp wine, 1 tsp flour, salt, pepper to taste.

Method of preparation.

We clean the mushrooms, wash them well, then cut them into small pieces. Heat the oil in a bowl, add the mushrooms, mix, add a little water and simmer for 30-35 minutes. Add the flour diluted in wine, salt, a little dill and simmer for another 15 minutes.

At the end, sprinkle the remaining dill, pepper to taste. It can be served as is or with potatoes au naturel.

Stevia food

Ingredients: 5-6 hands of stevia, 6 cloves of garlic, 2 suitable onions, 1 tablespoon of chopped green dill, 250 ml of oil, 1 tablespoon of flour, salt, pepper to taste.

Preparation method

Wash the stevia well, then boil it in boiling salted water. Leave for 10-15 minutes and save a cup of the juice in which it boiled. Finely chop the onion, crush the garlic and sauté everything in a pan with hot oil. Add the flour and the juice in which the stevia has boiled.

Finely chop the stevia and add it to the onion. Leave until well incorporated, and at the end the taste matches the salt and pepper to taste. Stevia food can be served with rice pilaf or natural potatoes.

You need five heaps of nettles, 2 suitable onions, 6 cloves of garlic, 1 tablespoon of chopped green dill, 250 ml of oil, 1 tablespoon of flour, salt to taste.

Preparation method

Wash the nettles well, then boil them in boiling salted water. We keep a cup of juice in which they boiled, and the rest is thrown away. We heat the oil, finely chop the onions and fry. Add the crushed garlic, sprinkle with flour and pour the juice in which the nettles boiled. Finely chop and add to onion sauce, stirring constantly to avoid sticking. Serve with polenta and garlic sauce, if desired.

Desserts should also not be missing from the fasting menu. We offer you a delicious walnut cake. You need 1 kilo of flour, 250 g of caster sugar, 1 tablespoon of caster sugar, 250 g of vegetable margarine, 200 g of ground walnut kernels, 500 ml of fruit juice, 1 tablespoon of cinnamon ground, 1 tablespoon lemon and orange peel (mixed), 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon baking soda.

The resulting composition, which should be as thick as possible, is placed in a greased tray with margarine or oil and cooked for 50-60 minutes at a suitable heat. When ready, place powdered sugar on top.

Fasting apple pie

Ingredients: 1 kg of flour, 3 tablespoons of vinegar, a cup of oil, 1 teaspoon of salt, water, 1 kg of apples.
Preparation: Knead a suitable hard dough from the above mentioned ingredients. Roll out a thin sheet. Apples are washed, peeled, put on a large grater and squeezed with juice. Sprinkle the grated apples on the spreadsheet in the desired amount. Sprinkle the caster sugar and vanilla essence over the apples. Roll out the sheet and place it in a frying pan greased with oil. Leave in the oven for 30 minutes. Serve cold.
